The Brief

To design a nature-inspired mural for the quiet room and a celebrity timeline mural for the stairway and hallway at Adamscourt Residential Care for Vauxian Care in Bournemouth.

Nature Mural Design: Inspired by nature, this bespoke mural was designed for the quiet room, featuring swans floating along a small lake with trees and flowers, a white bridge and a building in the background. The intention is that when sitting in the armchairs opposite the mural, residents feel as though they are in the countryside looking out at nature.

Celebrity Timeline Mural: Inspired by celebrities of yesteryear from the 1940s to 1970s — dates that coincide with the resident age range at the care home. Residents have been known to name the celebrities as they go up and down the stairs, with the mural designed to encourage memories and spark conversation.
