Cricket Bat and Ball Wallpaper Design by ATADesigns for One Man Two Guvnors at Derby Theatre

In 2019, Neil Irish, Freelance Production Designer for Derby Theatre and Hornchurch Theatre Co Production, was sourcing wallpapers for Richard Bean's smash-hit comedy One Man Two Guvnors. Neil spotted the Cricket Wicket and Cricket Bat and Ball Wallpaper designs from the ATADesigns sports wallpaper collection, along with the vintage 60s-style La Fete Wallpaper.

The wallpapers were recoloured to match the play's room-sets and rescaled to a size large enough for the audience to see the designs from the back of the theatre — a crucial consideration. Each design was carefully made bespoke to fit each room-set, avoiding any wallpaper wastage. ATADesigns is proud to have been part of this remarkable project, and working with Neil Irish and the team was a pleasure.

One Man Two Guvnors was directed by Sarah Brigham, featuring a side-splitting mix of slapstick comedy, farce and live music by a talented skiffle band.
