The Story

Annette Taylor-Anderson's journey began as a painter, selling original artwork at art shows and exhibitions. During her foundation course in art, experimenting across surfaces from canvas to fabric, she discovered her true calling. Encouraged by her course moderator, she went on to study a part-time degree in Textile and Surface Decoration at the University of East London — a three-year journey that immersed her in wallpaper design from the ground up. ATADesigns was founded the moment she graduated.

Design Philosophy

At ATADesigns, design begins with curiosity — on walks through London and across England, looking up, slowing down, noticing a decorative motif on a Victorian building, a weathered tile, a forgotten piece of history hiding in plain sight. Every detail is captured and carried back to the studio.

Whether hand-drawn, painted, digitally crafted, or built from photography itself, every design is created intuitively — layering textures, building depth, never following trends. Design is about more than aesthetics — it's about creating spaces that enhance wellbeing and bring joy. Our work in dementia-friendly design for care homes proves that thoughtful design can genuinely improve lives.
